Slow Sunday Stitching

Not enough time in the day!
Yesterday my "to-do" list was too long. I woke up with anxiety about not enough minutes to complete the tasks the day required.
NOT ENOUGH TIME!
And even though I was making good progress as the day went on, there just was not going to be enough time.
This kind of day needs to be less of a regular occurrence for me because it leads to not enjoying even my most favourite tasks, like spending time with loved ones, and spending time in the quilt studio.
I have only myself to blame. I take on too many tasks, and say 'yes' to too many creative ideas, which combined with my "delusional doability" makes for a lot of unnecessary stress.
Which is why I need Slow Sunday Stitching. It reminds me to breathe, to sit still, to regain a healthy perspective and to actually enjoy what I am doing in every moment.
Today I will be hand quilting a few stitches in my reproduction bow tie quilt. I am almost to the edge on one side, which is alway encouraging. See the smaller bow tie blocks on the border? That's the edge and I'm one hoop away from the edge!

What are you hand stitching today?
Link up your blog post below and share your slow progress with us.

Ugh...my link up happened before I added the right title! Oh, well! I am going to be working on detailing three more snowman pillows today ...eyes, noses, scarves, button on the bodies and mouths. I know what you mean by having too many things on the to do list....the unfinished jobs just get added to the next day's list... Have fun stitching today...we all need some slow stitching time!

I hate days like that, where you feel like you are racing the clock all day. Hopefully you are able to enjoy a day of slow stitching and can let all the stress from yesterday go.

When I have days like that, I try to think, what is the worst that can happen if I don't get each item completed. That seems to put the tasks in perspective and I can reorganize my day and put the not so important jobs off for another day. Have a peaceful Sabbath stitching. Blessings, Gretchen

I had one of those days last week too. I think this time of year we start putting so much more pressure on ourselves too. There are so many things going on and we want to do them all. I have to sometimes remind myself that I'm not super woman! Even though my family sometimes expects it. Your doing good!! Just know that! Hugs

Have you been reading my list kathy?!?! If I could find my list amongst all the boxes it would be a start, haha! I hope you get some perspective today and work out where your priorities lie - a good few stitches on your lovely bow tie quilt will be just what you need :) Have a relaxing day x

I always seem to have more on my to-do list than there are hours in any day, week or even month. Your bow-ties are so pretty. Enjoy your slow stitching. You are almost there.

Your bow tie quilt is so lovely ... I can imagine how good it feels to hand stitch on it! Enjoy a quiet, happy day! :)

It is too easy to overschedule, to say yes too many times. Quilting should be fun, and the projects get done when they get done. Thank you for Slow Sunday Stitching, it helps to recharge with a resting day. Handwork is relaxing while productive, and energizes the rest of the week.

I think it's so exciting when you are hand-quilting and you all of a sudden see real progress!

Those kind of days are the worse. I hope you get plenty of slow stitching today, and that next week is better for you. It is exciting to get to an edge when hand quilting!

I know what you mean, when I was younger that was almost a daily event but now as I have gotten older I have less obligations and can say no. But I will at times tho fall but into that pattern. Good to slow down Thank you for reminding us.

I understand totally. We want to do it all. I am glad you were able to slow down today and stitch.

Delusional doability--I may have to steal that phrase, ha ha! Whatever you get up to, it's bound to catch your heart, there's never enough time for everything!
